SALT FLATS & COLORED LAGOONS DISCOVERY 3 Days / 2 Nights

Day 1

Uyuni Salt Flats & Colored Lagoons (Shared Car)

In Uyuni, pick up from the airport or bus station and transfer to our office. Free time until the tour begins and meanwhile you can have breakfast. Later, departure to the Salt Flats but, before visit the Train Cemetery and the Colchani village where is possible to observe the manual salt process and the salt local handicrafts. Later, inside the Salt Flats, the guide will show you the salt eyes, interesting to be the exit points of the salt water; salt hexagons, geometric shapes on the salt flats surface, piles of salt and we will cross the salt flats to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. Then, visit the famous flags, Dakar monument and continue to Incahuasi Island which is located in the middle of the salt flats and the island is populated with giant cacti species that measures up to 12 meters high. Later, enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of this salt desert. Continue to Candelaria town for the accommodation in basic lodges, but in private bedrooms.

Not Included: Admission fee to Incahuasi Island.

Note: From Dec to Apr is wet season and Incahuasi Island cannot be visited. 

Day 2

After breakfast depart to Polques on the way we cross the Chiguana desert, Ollague Volcano lookout, Siloli desert where passengers will be able to appreciate an interesting rock formation known as the Stone Tree. Enter to the National Reserve of Andean Fauna Eduardo Avaroa and visit the Red Lagoon, its very impressive color is due to the fine sediment accumulation of the same color in the surface, as well as the pigmentation of certain type of seaweed. Also, variety of flamingos can be seen. Picnic lunch on route and later continue to Polques town for the accommodation in basic lodges, but in private bedrooms.

Not Included: Admission fee to National Reserve and hot springs. 

Day 3

After an early breakfast, the trip continues towards “Sol de Mañana”, this is a place where it is possible to appreciate fumes and geysers, on the way appreciate the bizarre landscape of Dali Desert, just beautiful! Arrival to Green Lagoon, an impressive aquatic mirror that resembles a giant emerald with a particular brightness in the mornings and afternoons; its color is due to the high magnesium content in the water. In the proximities of this lagoon is the Licancahur Volcano. Picnic lunch and continue the journey towards the villages of Alota, Kulpina K and the mining town of San Cristobal and finally arrive to Uyuni town. End of Services.
